2. Medical Transport Leadership Institute (MTLI)
In-depth continuing education and certification are offered by the Medical Transport Leadership Institute (MTLI) at Oglebay National Training Centre to people who oversee medical transportation services now, those looking for managerial roles, and others with both direct and indirect involvement who want to learn more about this evolving field. The Institute uses regular classroom hours, required participation, written exams, and oral presentations as part of its strict competency-based education programme.
The two-year curriculum will certify graduates as Certified Medical Transport Executives (CMTEs). A minimum of 20 Management Education Units (MEUs) can be obtained through the MTLI’s graduate programme each year to be eligible for CMTE re-certification. Every year, this training takes place in Wheeling, West Virginia.

3. Safety Management Training Academy (SMTA)
For people (and their organisations) who wish to further their knowledge of safety systems theory and how it applies to medical transportation practice, the Academy offers formal continuing education. Through formal didactic and interactive workshops intended to foster creative thinking and decision-making, students will acquire expertise and useful skills. By networking with business executives, participants also gain insightful knowledge about real-world difficulties.
The Academy uses regular classroom hours, required student involvement, written assessment, and a code of professional conduct as part of its strict competency-based education programme. Owing to the program’s requirements, students will be asked to finish work outside of class. Upon completion of the course, all SMTA Year 2 students will have free access to the MTSP-C Exam. The exam cost is now part of the SMTA tuition.
