Agape Clinic, a Dallas-based nonprofit dedicated to serving underserved communities, has launched a new dental center at 4104 Junius Street. Officially opened on September 28, the clinic has witnessed rapid growth. “Initially, we saw around 20 patients in the first week. Now, it’s 20 patients daily,” shared Executive Director Paul Hoffman. Highlighting the critical need, Hoffman noted, “Quality dental care is essential, yet many in our community lack the means to afford necessary procedures.” Currently staffed by two part-time dentists, the clinic plans to add two full-time and one part-time dentist this fall, supported by six dental staff members, including a hygienist and dental assistants.
A Holistic Approach to Healthcare
Agape Clinic uniquely integrates dental services into its broader healthcare offerings, which include medical, pediatric, and behavioral health care. “We believe health is a fundamental right and are thrilled to offer free dental care to our clients,” Hoffman said. Unlike many facilities, Agape imposes no zip code restrictions, income verification, or insurance requirements. The clinic’s funding relies on a generous anonymous donor covering 90% of costs, alongside contributions from patients and other supporters. “This model allows patients to actively partner in their care while helping to sustain services,” Hoffman explained.
Broad Community Impact
In 2023, Agape Clinic delivered over $8.3 million in healthcare services, serving more than 14,000 patient visits across 262 zip codes and 23 counties. With projected growth to 20,000 patient visits in 2024, the clinic exemplifies its mission of equitable care. “Every $1 donated translates to $8 in medical impact,” Hoffman highlighted, underlining the transformative effect of Agape’s community-driven approach.
